Jamie Bamber is a British actor who's best known for playing Captain Lee Adama on the TV series Battlestar Galactica. He studied at the London Academy of Dramatic Arts and began working in television in the late 1990s. His most memorable early role was as Archie Kennedy in the Hornblower series of movies (1998-2001). Bamber adopted an American accent to play Lee Adama, the emotional and reluctant fighter pilot (nicknamed "Apollo") of the 2003 miniseries Battlestar Galactica. The miniseries spawned four more seasons of Battlestar, and Bamber's character evolved from military brat to civilian leader. After the series ended Bamber landed a leading role in a new series, Law & Order: U.K..

Extra credit: He married actress Kerry Norton in 2003; she appeared as a medic in several episodes of Battlestar Galactica.
