Galadriel
Fictional Elf
The elf queen Galadriel is a mystical figure in The Lord of the Rings, the fantasy novel by J.R.R. Tolkien. With her husband Celeborn, Galadriel rules over the magical forest of Lothlorien. She is a friend to the wizard Gandalf and aids the hobbit Frodo in his quest to destroy the one ring of power. She was played by Cate Blanchett in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings film trilogy from 2001-2003.Extra credit: Galadriel is also called the Lady of Light and the Lady of the Golden Wood... "Galadriel's mirror" is a basin of water which functions much like a crystal ball... At their parting she gives Frodo a gift, which Tolkien describes as "a small crystal phial: it glittered as she moved it, and rays of white light sprang from her hand".
Galadriel appears with Frodo and Arwen Evenstar in our loop on The Lord of the Rings.
